Masks invigorate the spaces they occupy and awaken people who wear them. Jolene Schafer is very curious about exploring this phenomenon with each mask she makes. Her masks have sold all over the world, and throughout her classes and workshops, she enjoys engaging with others through the playful and powerful art of the mask.
Jolene opened an Etsy shop, PlatyMorph, in March 2012, although she previously built many masks and costume crafts for friends and community theater productions. Her wearable art pieces are created with a blend of traditional and contemporary leather working techniques.
Jolene resides in Tucson, Arizona, and is inspired by the unique desert landscape and its inhabitants.
