If you are looking for an intensive, three-day drawing workshop, then this is your class. With a curriculum carefully crafted to combine popular ASDM student requests into a cohesive drawing workshop, Drawing Deep Dive will focus on quick gesture drawings, careful proportional studies, creating believable volume, mass, and texture through shading, use of positive & negative space, and composition. We’ll be drawing from a large alligator skull, but the class is not about alligators. Instead we will be using this single subject as a vehicle for the thorough development of observational drawing skills. With everyone working from the same subject, regular class critiques will be a valuable way to learn from each other’s successes and struggles. The class will culminate in each student producing a highly developed drawing on the last day.
