Drawing portraits is a timeless art subject, but a difficult one. At least working in graphite helps you start with an easier medium. This step by step course in drawing portraits will go beyond just drawing a person. An emphasis on catching the likeness of the subject will be taught as well as structure and facial proportions using the Cannon of Beauty. We’ll be working from photographs, with some life drawing. Lectures, demos, and individualized encouragement from an experienced artist will be offered weekly.
