Learn to document your observations in graphite, both highly detailed, and stylized. Expand your view of the desert by taking a closer look while you fine-tune your graphite drawing skills. Cross the boundary from casual observation into a world of fantastic shapes and endless beautiful patterns. How do you render a sharp cactus spine, a squirrel’s whisker or delicate downy feather? Use a microscope and/or magnifying glass to discover the amazing underlying structure of Sonoran Desert animals. What does a butterfly wing look like under a magnifying glass? How are fish and reptile scales the same, and different, and how would you draw them? Drawing experience recommended.
Satisfies Pencil II requirement.
