Add excitement to your pastel paintings by learning underpainting techniques. Underpaintings allow changes to be made early in the painting’s basic structure by focusing on composition, light source, and values. We will explore types of underpaintings such as complimentary, local, and monochromatic. We will also use various solvents, fixatives and sanded pastel papers and learn how to make a painting pop. Beginning pastel experience is advised.
