We are surrounded by patterns, both natural and man-made. Building on her artwork featuring patterns, the instructor created this class by examining the existence of patterns across history. Specifically we will explore patterned art from two time periods and two artists spanning thousands of years. The class will include in-depth information, photographs of the art, handouts, and class discussions to inspire creative explorations in using patterns in the 21st century. No art experience is necessary. Note: The 12-day break between sessions is to give students time to reflect, plan and collect supplies for their art project(s).
