The Sonoran Desert has unique wildlife. In this class, you create a mosaic of either Gambel’s quail or a desert landscape, using the double-direct method with photos. You learn how to use photos for your mosaics and how to nip and shape art glass to create unique brush strokes for natural looking mosaics. You will prepare substrates, apply tesserae, grout, and finish your pieces. PLUS, if you are a student returning for more practice, the instructor offers additional photos. Tools, art glass, and safety equipment are provided. NOTE: Glass nipping requires considerable hand strength. Aprons are highly recommended.
