White-browed Scrub Wren

11" x 16"

The White-browed Scrub Wren (Sericornis frontalis), is found in the coastal forests of Australia. It is often seen foraging for invertebrates in the dense undergrowth and leaf litter. They are interesting little characters with a rather stern, fixed expression, the result of their white brow, which is almost comical when contrasted with their tiny size. This painting aims to show the agility of this small bird as it surveys its surrounds, poised to take off having inspected the tree bark for a meal among the spider webs.
