Although there are similarities between Found Objects and Box Art, there's a distinctly different approach. Found Object Art is an opportunity to reclaim the old, the unwanted and discarded, all of which can be transformed into small free-standing sculptures or 3-dimensional wall hangings. Although found objects sometimes lend themselves to storytelling, they often hold an interest - or even a fascination, all their own. Yard sales, antique stores, and flea markets are some of the popular places to find small and unusual items, including wonders from the past, or little known objects that can find a new life in the hands of the artist. No experience needed. Just an interest in creative possibilities.
