February 16 – March 17, 2019

Third time at the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum!

What better way to tell you about this wonderful museum and the fun event than to have the Art Institute tell you in their own words...

We call this "The Other Animal," because this exhibit is in honor of the humans. The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum wouldn't exist without all of the amazing people behind it, caring for it, supporting it, running it!  This is a special performance and art exhibit in the Ironwood Art Gallery. Each participant took home a free photo gift as a thank you for their support and we are keeping up the display through March 17. Thank you Tom Styrkowicz for sharing your spectacular energy and talent with us once again. We will have you back next year!

In the three days I was at the museum I photographed 836 people!

People ask me if I get tired photographing so many people. I say no, because everybody brings their own new energy, which inspires me.

Here's just a small sampling of the photos. About 80% of them I get in one shot, but still capture the spirit and energy of the people.

Everyone gets a print of their own to take home. Better than a "gift shop souvenir," this is a personal treasure that bonds them forever to the museum.

The other connection is the photo that stays behind on the museum wall. They are literally "one of the exhibits at the museum.
