Step into the beauty of Megan Johnson's vibrant desert landscapes. From the sensitive details of cacti, to wall-sized pieces of the dramatic night sky, Renewal explores the ephemeral quality of the delicate desert landscape and emphasizes the desert’s ability to renew itself in times of distress.

Inspiration for this work comes from the artist’s physical exploration of the Sonoran Desert during varying times and conditions of night, using this setting to analyze the passing of time, environment, and place. These themes translated to canvas with oil and oil pastels encourages viewers to discover the active shapes, layers, and colors that disappear and reappear during prolonged viewing of the works.
