Art Donations

The Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum Art Institute appreciates your consideration and generosity in wishing to donate art pieces.

How to donate:

 We request that all proposed donations include as much information about the art as possible (Artist bio, medium/material, dates, ownership history, and subject matter). Email a picture of the proposed donation and corresponding information to or contact us at 520-883-3024


What to donate: 


The object(s) must be consistent with and relevant to the stated mission, purpose, scope, and activities of the museum. The mission of the Art Institute is “Conservation through Art Education”.


Donations are accepted as unrestricted gifts, artwork will be used at the discretion of the ASDM Art Institute (Sales, gala, exhibition, office art, education, or added to the permanent collection).


ASDM Art Institute will evaluate each gift to ensure it is appropriate as an addition to our collection or for consignment. We may refuse a gift because the art may not fit within our collecting areas, is a duplicate or similar to works already in our collection, or is not of appropriate museum quality or would be difficult to sell or consign.


ASDM Art Institute does not accept unsolicited donations of artwork through the mail or in person. Any unsolicited objects received will be considered abandoned, and the museum reserves the right to dispose of such property as it sees fit.

Art appraisals: 


The Arizona Sonora Desert Museum Art Institute does not provide art appraisal services.

Exhibition Inquiries

  • Please digitally submit a Google Drive folder or Dropbox with samples of artwork/portfolio, CV and exhibition proposal description. Please include links to website and social media.

  • Our submissions review committee will review exhibition proposals at the beginning of each month.
