How incredible is our unique Sonoran Desert with the diversity of it's plant life! In this workshop we will focus on the family of Opuntia cacti: the prickly pears and chollas. As we draw, we will learn to suggest their patterns of segmented growth, the varied spines and the details of each species. What animals, birds and insects depend upon opuntia? What uses do these cacti offer to humans? Discover the interdependence of life around Opuntia and practice drawing/painting living specimens en plein aire on the museum grounds, as we reflect on these prolifically growing desert plants. Pencil, pen and watercolor, mixed media.
No prerequisite... All Levels welcome.
