Get ready for summer travels! While on the road, document your special moments by making quick, vibrant sketches in a travel size journal. I just adore how a watercolor or drawing that I made while traveling reminds me clearly of visceral memories so easily forgotten: the sketch itself evokes not just the captured scene, but also the wind on my skin, the laughter of friends, the glint of sunlight on water, the sounds of the birds. Putting travel experiences to paper seems to preserve these fun moments much more clearly than a snapshot.
Learn to capture quick, dynamic studies of land and cityscape with fresh and brilliant results, as you gain technical skill in layering pen and pencil, watercolor, colored pencils, and more. In this class, we will work from specimens of nature, live birds, projected images, and your own photos. Catherine will help you create a versatile and transportable art kit to carry when working out-of-doors and while you're exploring to translate the beauty of your travel memories! Pencil, pen and watercolor, mixed media.
