Sonoran Treasures
Southern Arizona Arts Guild Juried Exhibition

July 18 - September 27, 2026
Ironwood Gallery
Sonoran Treasures takes an intimate look at the rich diversity of plants and animals that define the Sonoran Desert. Through this juried selection of 2D and 3D works, the Southern Arizona Arts Guild (SAAG) examines the interconnected relationships between flora, fauna, and the distinctive geology of the Southwest.
Rooted in the enduring artistic tradition of observing and depicting the natural world, the exhibition also reflects contemporary conservation values. While drawing from historical approaches to nature-based art, these works serve as modern meditations on a living, evolving ecosystem. Through close study of desert life, the artists transform careful observation into visual tributes to an environment that is both fragile and resilient.
By bridging fine art and environmental awareness, Sonoran Treasures fosters a deeper appreciation for the desert and encourages thoughtful stewardship of its remarkable yet vulnerable landscape
Founded in 1988, the Southern Arizona Arts Guild is a non-profit organization representing hundreds of regional artists. The guild is dedicated to the mastery of diverse media through professional development and prestigious juried exhibitions that promote the art of the Southwest.
