Leaves and Ellipses! One of the more challenging aspects of drawing is to render correctly in perspective. Drawing the turn of a leaf, or rendering correctly the petal of a flower pointing at you, or painting a foreshortened prickly pear pad can certainly test your abilities. And what if the plant is in a pot? Gain the skills needed to correctly analyze the structure of your botanical and accurately draw the ellipses of the pot in which it is planted. By focusing on shape and value in this workshop, you will shift your seeing to draw in proper perspective, and create the illusion of true three dimensional space with varied natural forms.
