Walk over the line and try portrait drawing! Gain a better understanding of how to draw faces by experiencing a pertinent series of exercises that helps us to render facial features in correct proportion and to discern the planar shifts of the head as revealed by light. We will naturally evolve into drawing portraits of friends and family from photographs. Taught in a friendly and individualized manner, the class is perfect for beginners as well as those with drawing experience. The essence of capturing a sensitive vitality within a drawn portrait begins with gaining an understanding of the structure and anatomy of the head. Our focus will be on capturing emotive qualities while deepening your eye-to-hand expression. Catherine Nash has taught figure drawing for over 20 years.
