Sketching desert animals from photos and life using pencil, pen and ink and color is incredibly fun! Whether drawing otters, mountain lions, or a skunk, we will prioritize their gesture and form before tackling detailed anatomy or fur. By becoming familiar with the animal’s basic shapes and structures, learn how to use fluid lines to capture the animal's posture, as we focus on the turn of the spine and establish correct proportions as we progress to more details. We will grasp and note each species behaviors as we observe their gestures and attitudes of movement, learning to interpret animals with a fluidity of mark making.
Prerequisite: Drawing 1 or equivalent.
