In today’s DIY world, everyone can be a designer. Accessible technology, customizable templates, and social media put powerful visual tools into anyone’s hands. This class explores fundamental design skills that you may not have learned in school. We’ll delve into basic design elements and principles that are relevant to both fine art and visual communication. You will learn how to pick fonts and arrange type that is both readable and visually appealing. Along the way, you will create a promotional flyer for your artwork with easy-to-use free software. Whether you are designing for print, the web, or social media, you’ll walk away with the ability to create eye-catching and effective communication.
