Designing Repeating Patterns in Procreate

Part investigation, part creation, this class will look at both natural and man-made repeating patterns. After examining patterns to see the structure and what makes a pattern tick, you will recreate similar patterns both using traditional drawing media, and then later on your iPad using the Procreate application. The class will cover how to create seamless patterns, how to check and fix their repeats, combine multiple patterns into one repeating pattern. In addition you will learn strategies for converting near repeating patterns into repeating patterns. At the end of this two day workshop you will know how to create pattern files ready to upload to print on demand fabric and wallpaper vendors.

Prerequisites: Basic Procreate familiarity. Knowledge of layers in Procreate is a strong plus.
