The Art Instititute has access to an amazing collection of insects. Yes, they are perfect models and will hold quite still! Our analysis of insect anatomy and how the parts of the legs and varied body parts attach to each other increases your ability to accurately render each species. You will also learn how to assess how light hits their bodies: some are matte and others have a beautiful sheen to them, even an iridescence! Black and white focus and/or colored pencils welcome!
