Papercutting Workshop

Join our beginner-friendly paper cutting workshop and create a finished piece from start to finish.  You'll learn essential papercutting styles, core design principles (contrast, balance, and shape), and how to use the tools with confidence.  After a guided demo covering knives and cutting techniques, you'll sketch and plan your own design, with personalized feedback along the way.
 
Next, you'll transfer your design onto silhouette paper and begin cutting--starting with simple shapes and gradually building toward a complete artwork.  You'll practice clean lines and smooth curves, develop knife control, and see how each design choice affects the final result.  Use your own photo references or choose from ours. 
 
You'll leave with a finished piece to take home--and the skills and confidence to continue exploring this meditative, hands-on art form.
